A Quarter Of A Century
"No distance of place or lapse of time can lessen the friendship of those who are thoroughly persuaded of each other's worth." ~Robert Southey
A quarter of a century…..
Can you believe 25 years have passed since we said good-bye to our high school days and set off on our lives journey’s? On Saturday, July 22, 2006, the Voorhees Class of 1981 gathered to celebrate the bond we shared of traveling the halls of VHS for four years; of sharing friendship in class, on the sports field, in clubs and at school activities.
For me, it was such a wonderful evening. It was truly wonderful to meet up again with so many of our class and to remember days gone by….and to share our life journeys to this point in time.
I hope that everyone uses this blog to keep in touch….and to plan for our 30th reunion in 2011 [yikes, did I just type that date correctly?]

I wanted to give special thanks to Sue Bugh [Pennington] and Sherri Kimber [Young] for all the work they did in making this reunion a reality. It was so great seeing the two of you and I hope we get to visit together again before the 30th!
Here are a few photographs from the event, and hopefully as I receive more, we can add to the memory of our 25th Reunion.

Voorhees High School 1981 ~ 2006
Same place.....but there have been subltle changes as the last 25 years have rolled by. I took these on June 16, 2006, the date of the Class of 2006's graduation.....25 years after we all put on that cap and gown and marched out onto the football field to recieve our diplomas and set sail on our life journey's.
Who remembers rapelling down this wall with Mr. Heilman's Discovery Class?
Wouldn't it have been nice to have a sign like this? Sad to say, but my 40th Birthday was announced for all to see on this same board. I'm not sure which group of classes donated their $ for this sign, but it is really a nice welcome to the school.
The sign we all remember......
This was just painted this week....this is the ramp out to the track and football field.
The front of the school.....this beautiful sign was donated by the Class of 1999.
The main entrance.....does this bring back memories?? If you notice all the flowers, they have been doing this for the last few years...I think it looks so nice.
Remember that ugly clock stuck on the front wall [that never kept time correctly]....well it is gone and this is what was gifted to the school by the class of 2002. Now there is no excuse to be late for class.
Looking at the Cafateria windows....beautiful flowers and still the only cafe' in the school....remember the 'NEW' Cafateria that was being built when we attended Voorhees.....well it is there, but never used as a cafateria,,,it is partitioned and set-up as classrooms.....
